How It All Began
Claudie’s Urban Gardens is named after my late father, Claudie Edward Wills. I planted my first garden the year he was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2015. That same year, I planted his garden because he was too sick to do it himself. That's my wife and I planting for him in the picture above. He showed me how to plant his garden his way, but I decided to plant my garden my way. Needless to say, my first garden was horrible, only growing half a cucumber. But that half a cucumber was so delicious, I decided to keep at it. A few years went by and I started to grow a lot more food. I started container gardening and was amazed at the amount of control I had in my garden using containers. After figuring out how to successfully grow all kinds of food in containers (even watermelon!) I decided that the best thing I could do to share my gift was start a business for people who want a garden, but don’t want to go through the hassles of learning how to do it right. My mission is to share my gardening methods with others so they can experience the joy of having an organic garden in their own backyard!
